10/17/12 - BIKETOBER FEST thru 10/31/12
I AM RIDING TO BIKETOBER FEST IN DAYTONA BEACH AND DOWN THE KEYS, 17 October to 29 October 2012; I will be taking a three day ride down along the East coast 2 or 3 nights in Daytona and off to the Keys. I want to ride into Key West at sundown and ride out during sunrise on Sunday 27 October 2012. Lots of planning to do, put the date on your calendar.
Think about it and let me know.

I'm bidding vacation for this trip. I'll let you know soon if I can go.
Re: 10/17/12 - BIKETOBER FEST thru 10/31/12
I'm tentatively planning on going on this trip but will be trailering my bike to Daytona instead of riding. So, with this in mind, I can carry any extra gear you would like to bring along but wouldn't otherwise due to space limitations on your motorcycles. I don't think I'll be going all the way to Key West and instead will travel over to the west coast to visit a very old friend. I'll meet up with everyone on your return from Key West at a place to be determined and bring up the rear for the return home.

All who may be traveling with us.
We talked a little about this ride last night at dinner, I plan to take three days down (to Daytona) along the coast, if anyone would like to stop and see or check out something along the way please let me know, I will add it to the trip.

I recommend we stop at every Harley dealer along the was so you can search for your new Harley (LoL!) Seriously though, a visit to Fort Sumpter in Charleston Harbor would prove interesting along with a visit to see the CSS Hunley, a Confederate submarine that is credited with the first successful attack and sinking of a naval war ship. In Georgia, there is Jeckle Isaland, now a state park. There's a wonderful Civil War Fort located just out side Savannah, GA that's worth visiting and there are several old plantations just south of Myrtle Beach that might be worth a visit. Just a few suggestions to think about.

We might want to ride into Helen Georgia. It's a Bavarian looking town with an Oktoberfest that runs during the time we would be there. There are some good riding roads in the area. It's also 90 miles from the beginning of the Blue Ridge Parkway at Cherokee, NC.

thanks Berry
i have looked into the Natchez trace, I don't think we can make it over that far west without pushing 400 miles every day. So far we have as our stops on the way back, Key west, Tampa, Pensacola, Helen, Blue Ridge. it's working !
