9/2013 - H-D's 110th Birthday Party

H-D's 110th Birthday Party begins on August 29th, 2013 and ends on Septermber 1, 2013. I am proposing a group ride up to Milwaukee, WI to take part in this celebration. If you like going to Datona or Sturgis for those bike events, you will like Harley's birthday parties. Just about every Harley dealer from here to Wisconsin will be joining in on the festivities. Every Harley dealer in Wisconsin will have parties of their own with vendors and bars all over the place for those attending the festivities.
Hotels close in to Milwaukee are already booked and sold out. I know this 'cause I checked today. There are plenty of hotels outside of the Milwaukee area that have very reasonable rates but require an hour or so ride into downtown Milwaukee. I've done this twice before and the ride into Milwaukee is easy and fun. I'm starting to amass a list of potential hotels to book for this ride. Harley has contracted with almost all of the hotels that are close-in to Milwaukee but the outlying hotels will be availabe for booking about 1 year out. So that means reserving rooms as early as this coming July/August for August 2013. I recommend booking as early as possible to ensure we can get as close as possible to Milwaukee without having to pay event hotel prices.
As for the ride up to Wisconsin. I am proposing a 3-4 day ride via back roads throught West Virginia, Ohio, Indianna, and Illinois. After the event is over, a 2-3 day ride back to Virginia. So all together, this would be approximately a 10-day ride event. Those who ride metiric bikes need not be concerned that this is primarily a Harley event. All riders are welcome just as is the case in Datona and Sturgis. Think of this event as Datona/Sturgis on the shores of Lake Michigan.
I know many of you might think posting this now is a bit early, but I want to get folks thinking about it now as reservations will need to be booked at least 1-year in advance. If you would like to get futher information about this event visit www.h-d.com/110!

cool, was thinking about hooking up with that new '72 sporty....if i've got that much of a window I just might own a HD by then.
